MATTERS OF LIFE

Like pages life flips,
Showcasing it's dark and light features as he strips,
Moments of happiness and tears -
the likely events each page bears.

People we loved come and go,
Desires we acquire and soon they melt like snow,
Life itself has an end,
So why not things life lends.

As years pass by I realise,
Things I managed to visualize,
Things I found paramount,
More or less, doesn't count.

The things I managed to buy,
The Limo I drive, the jet I fly,
They are not the real thing that makes me happy,
They are of less use, just trashy.

The worries, fears, tears and life bends,
The fortune, fame and friends,
At the end like bubbles they will fade away,
Same for human made of clay,

But the legacies left behind,
How much of my soul and mind-
Shared to others when needed on time,
Is the true measurement of one's life time.

How much love and kindness shown,
The healthy seed sown,
Before God invites me,
Somewhere above the land and the sea.
